How did it all start?

I vividly remember the moment when I applied for the Erasmus scheme. It has been my dream forever, even before I went to university. I was always passionate about travelling and getting to know different cultures, so after living in the UK for two years I decided to try a different country for comparison.

I sat down with both of my friends and we collectively applied for the exchange scheme. Even though we all decide to go to different cities far apart from each other, all of them were in Spain. We found it to be a wonderful opportunity to visit Spain through and through while visiting each other.

One of them in the end was accepted by a university in Madrid and another in Granada. All of it seemed more like a fairytale than the truth. In the end, all of it we used to talk about came to reality and everyone was confronted with the big change on their own terms.

As a group of close friends, I was not expecting our experiences to be so different from each other especially when we have all been international students in the UK going on an exchange program in Spain in all of the cases. Each one of us had an individual approach finished with different results. I am the most grateful for mine. Even though the beginning was a struggle I managed to survive the rough beginning and became a stronger person.
